Zach woke up with a runny nose this morning. I really hope he isn't trying to get sick again, I finally feel like everyone is doing well. Although I know Beth will go back to school next week and bring home every germ know to man and some unknown.
We didn't do anything exciting for the New Year.
On Wednesday I took the kids to Barnes and Noble to meet up with the playgroup. The kids played listened to a story, attempted to do a craft far beyond their years and generally had a good time.
After Barnes and Noble we went across the street to Chick-fil-a. We meet Shannon and her two and Teresa and her wonderful kids. Beth played some and we had a nice lunch. Teresa really does have such sweet kids it was nice to see them since they are typically in school. I'm thinking her oldest girls would be wonderful baby sitters as they get older.
We didn't do anything special that night but try to get some sleep.
Thursday must have been extremely boring because I don't remember what we did. I know I took the kids to blockbuster to change out Beth's movie and then we went to Publix and got some cupcakes. The reason we needed cupcakes is because it was Beth's baby doll Maggie's Birthday. Beth has found this baby doll that she has had forever and named her Maggie and well Maggie had a birthday and turned 3. And as Beth puts it, Maggie needs a cake, we sing "Happy Birthday to you", Maggie blows out phire (fire) and we clap. So we had some fun with Maggie and got to enjoy some cupcakes in the process.
Friday after lunch we hit the grocery store where Beth proceeded to eat more there then she ate for lunch. Seriously she had an entire banana, a chicken finger, and half a Nesquick Strawberry milk. She always ask for a banana but after we left the produce and started past the lunch meat/hot food area she said she need a chicken finger.
Beth took a bi-weekly nap on the way home from the grocery store. She really only naps about twice a week. And after her nap I knew she would stay up late. So I took Beth and Zach to the Y to swim hoping it would burn off some of Beth's energy. We had a good time although it was a little more crowded then I use to seeing, probably because school is out. Since it was about 6pm when we left the Y, I made the fatal mistake of offering to pick up diner at Burger Kings drive thu.
Yuck! The wait time was forever, it cost much more then I think it should have, and the food was so not good.
Today we didn't really do much but hang around the house. I took Beth and Zach back to blockbuster so Beth could get a different movie, she is really into Strawberry Shortcake. We were able to play outside some today. I wasn't very cold but it was damp out. We still had a good time.
Oh and we took down the Christmas decorations. It seems like the living room is so much bigger with the tree down.

We had a wonderful Christmas. Beth and Zach received too many toys mainly because their father is a sucker and adores them magnificently.
Ty and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary this past Sunday (the 28th) although there really wasn't much celebrating since he spent the day cutting trees down in the front yard and I worked on laundry.
Things have seemed so busy around here and I have been very very very slack with posting to the blog.
I'm resolving to try much harder in the upcoming year.
Oh yes and Beth isn't sad or scared in the Santa picture she just has this thing when you ask her to smile for the camera you get a blank stare.

Here is the beginning of my recount of our trip.
Thursday I got Beth off to school, got Zach settled into a nap and did a little bit of packing. Then Zach and I dropped the other 2 dogs off at the kennel and picked Beth up from school. I got Beth some lunch and worked on more packing.
Ty had planned to get off work early so we could get on the road early. Well Ty got off much much much earlier then I had expected and I was not prepared. I quickly ran around the house and quickly packed everything but the kitchen sink. We got on the road about 3:00pm (only 1 hour later then what Ty had hoped for, not bad if I do say so myself).
Starting the day out on Friday.

Friday morning we got up and prepared for the drive down. We planned a stop in Jacksonville, FL to visit the zoo. They have a very nice zoo there not very big but not a little small hole in the wall. It was hot but not brutal. We got there right at lunch time and thought we might pass a few places to eat before we got to the zoo but literally there was nothing on the exit the zoo was NOTHING. So we went into the zoo and headed to one of there restaurant and overpaid for a mediocre meal. The really cool thing was there was this one wall that was almost all glass and I was thinking how cool would it be if there were animals over there. Well a few minutes later we see a jaguar laying down. I took some pretty cool pictures of Beth right in front, you almost don't see the glass. You will have to forgive Beth's messy face Doritos came with her kids meal and she was having fun licking all the cheese flavor off of them.
This is a huge snack, HUGE!
I tried to catch the bat eating the apple.
Ty said this thing is basically a huge hamster.
Zach did as well as could be expected.
Beth calls these the "Move it, Move it Monkeys" from the movie Madagascar.
This we think was one of the highlights of the trip for Beth. She loved trying to pet the sting rays. Ty said if he wasn't there to hold her back he thinks she would have gone right in the water.
I plan to post tomorrow night about some of the actually Disney time. We took so many pictures over 1200. It is going to take me some time to sort through them and pick the ones to post.
Back from Disney
We made it back from Disney on Friday night and have spent the last day and half trying to get settled in. I hope to make a post tonight but I expect it will take me a few days to post the entire week.
We have lots and lots and lots of pictures. Will post soon!!

This morning we tried the story time at the Oconee County library. Wednesday is typically our Gymboree day but we decided to try the story time because it was in Watkinsville and after we could easily visit with Sadie at the vets office and see how she was doing after her surgery.
As usual we were late to story time (it seems as if we are late everywhere, I almost have to leave Beth to convince her to hurry up and go). The story time there was so much fun, we have down the story time at the Athens library and while it was fun it doesn't compare to the story teller at Watkinsville.
Beth didn't get into the story time too much but I think if we went regularly she would. We may have to re-visit the timing of our Gymboree class.
We meet one of the moms from our playgroup there, Teresa and her daughter Monica. Monica always seems so quite but she was really getting into story time.
After story time we went into the children's section and the kids played for a bit. We decided we would meet Teresa and Monica at McDonald's for some play time after we visited with Sadie.
We drove over to the vet and saw Sadie for a bit and she is doing so well. She is even putting some weight on her leg and can get up from the ground easily and lay down easily. I let Beth bring some dog biscuits to give Sadie, which Sadie loved. Now that I know Sadie is doing so well from the operation I wish I could bring her home but it wouldn't make any sense since we are leaving tomorrow evening and she would have to just turn around and go right back.
We went to McDonald's where Beth and Monica played together very well and Zach peed on Teresa (sorry again about that Teresa).
Now I brought my camera with me to each of these events but didn't take any pictures.
I have so much packing to do and cleaning to prepare for our trip, I hate getting ready to travel. We leave tomorrow evening.
And Beth appears to have given up naps. I got to thinking about it yesterday and I can not remember the last day she took a nap. I can clearly remember everything back to Wednesday of last week and she has not had a nap going back that far. That is a week without any naps. I really think she is trying to give them up which is most unfortunate for me.
